Womens Lacrosse Goalie Gloves

Women's Lacrosse Goalie Gloves

So you need some goalie gloves ay? Well you came to the right place.

Women's lacrosse goalies use the same gloves as men's goalies do. Good goalie gloves are needed for protection of the fingers and hand. As a goalie, you put yourself at the risk of getting hit in the thumb by a fast moving lacrosse ball. Below are some gloves I personally recommend.

STX Lacrosse Women's Sultra Goalie Glove

Although I said Goalie gloves for men's and women's lacrosse, this is the exception. The STX Lacrosse Women's Sultra Goalie Glove has thinner fingers to provide a better fit for Women goalies. There is padding on the back of the glove and also at the top of the thumb. The thumb padding allows for increased mobility in the thumb. One downside of the Sultra Goalie Glove is the thumb padding. After a while (one year) of daily use, the thumb pad seams to fall out. The STX Lacrosse Women's Goalie Glove is better for a player needing a smaller more fitting glove and increased mobility in the thumb.

Warrior Burn Goalie Glove

The Warrior Burn Goalie Glove is the glove I use. This glove features a Lock Thumb for high impact absorption. While this increases thumb protection, it decreases thumb mobility. After getting used to not being able to move my thumb, I don't think it affects my performance. There is also protection on the back of the glove. The Burn Goalie Glove is great for a goalie that wants to keep their thumb fully protected.

Maverik Lacrosse M3 Goalie Glove

The Maverik Lacrosse M3 Goalie Glove has additional volume for greater protection of the hand. The liner inside the glove also lets sweat and heat evaporate faster than most gloves. One downside to this glove is less protection on the top of the thumb. One way to combat this is by hiding your top hand's thumb behind the stick resting on the head of the glove. This glove is great for a goalie that demands both protection and comfort in a glove.

Overall, all three options are a great choice for a women's lacrosse goalie. The STX Lacrosse Women's Sultra Goalie Glove is better for a player needing a smaller more fitting glove and increased mobility in the thumb. The Warrior Burn Goalie Glove is great for a goalie that wants to keep their thumb fully protected. The Maverik Lacrosse M3 Goalie Glove is great for a goalie that demands both protection and comfort in a glove. Choose whichever glove will best suit you.
